Terms & Conditions.

Last Updated: October 21, 2026

These EDUS Online Terms and Conditions form a legally binding agreement between you and EDUS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, a company registered in Sri Lanka under company number PV 00232840, with our registered office at No. 95, K.K.S Road, Jaffna, Sri Lanka (“us,” “we,” or “our”). These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who wish to access or use our service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, then you do not have permission to access the Service.

1. Services

We offer various online and taught classes and courses (“Services”) as described on our website https://edustutor.com. These Services are subject to the terms and conditions contained herein, as well as any other course-specific terms and conditions that may apply.

Each class type also has its own rules for students and parents. These rules form part of these Terms, and a student accepts them by paying the first invoice or attending the first class:

  • Group Class Standards (Student Success, Safety & Learning Standards): attendance, homework and exams, safe platform use, monthly fees, official communication and leaving a class.
  • Individual Class Guidelines: tutor matching, the 30-day class cycle, advance payment, timetable changes, absences, cancellations and renewal.

Where these rules deal with a matter in more detail than these Terms, the rules for that class type apply. Both are available in English, Tamil and Sinhala.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features of our Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3. Fees and Payment

Fees for our Services are as described on our website or as informed over the phone. Fees must be paid in full prior to accessing the Services. All fees are exclusive of taxes, unless otherwise stated.

  • Group classes: monthly fees are due on or before the 5th of each month.
  • Individual classes: each 30-day class cycle is paid in advance. Pay the next cycle at least 3 days before it starts to keep the tutor’s time slot.
  • Pay through the EDUS LMS against the invoice, or add funds to the EDUS Wallet in advance. Online card payments are confirmed immediately. Bank transfers and manual payments are checked during office hours and can take 3 to 5 business days.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel your purchase of the Services within 14 working days from the day after the date we concluded our agreement, subject to certain conditions. If you access, download, or start to use an online course within this period, you will not be entitled to cancel your order.

In individual classes, a session the student misses or cancels without EDUS approval counts as used and is not automatically refunded, and time cancelled by the tutor or EDUS is made up at no extra charge. See our Refund Policy.

To stop a class or leave EDUS, unenrol in the EDUS LMS or send an official request through the EDUS Hotline or EDUS Connect Support. Being absent, telling only the tutor, or leaving a chat group does not count, and any unpaid fees must still be settled.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights in the course materials, online courses, and taught courses are owned by or licensed to EDUS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. You are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the course materials for personal use related to completing the course.

6. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential information in strict confidence and to use it only for the purposes of these terms and conditions.

7. Liability

We do not accept any liability for any indirect, special, or consequential loss arising from any breach of these terms and conditions. Our total liability in connection with these terms shall be limited to the fees you have paid us.

8. Termination

We may terminate these terms and conditions and cease to provide you with any Services with immediate effect in certain circumstances, including if you fail to comply with these terms. This includes missing three classes in a row without an accepted reason (after EDUS reviews and contacts you), and unsafe, harmful or unethical conduct such as bullying, harassment or misuse of the EDUS platform, as set out in the class rules above.

9. Data Protection

We will use your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data but cannot guarantee the security of any data you disclose online.

10. EDUS AI

EDUS AI is an optional study helper inside EDUS. You must accept these EDUS AI terms in the app before you use it for the first time, and again whenever they change.

  • It can make mistakes. Answers and pictures are made by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Check important answers with your tutor. EDUS AI does not give medical, legal or financial advice.
  • Use it to learn, never to cheat. Do not hand in its work as your own, or use it to break the rules of a class, homework or exam. EDUS AI pauses while a student is writing an EDUS exam.
  • Use it safely. Do not ask for harmful, adult, violent, hateful or illegal content, try to get around its safety rules, or upload anything you have no right to share or that holds other people’s private information.
  • Keep private details out. Never type passwords, OTP codes, bank or card details, or phone numbers into a chat.
  • Outside AI services. What you send to EDUS AI is processed by outside AI services, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Chats, photos and files are deleted after 30 days.
  • Pictures. Pictures EDUS AI makes are marked as made by AI and cannot show written labels. Use them for study only.
  • Credits and availability. Each person gets credits that refill over time. EDUS may change the credits, switch features on or off, or pause EDUS AI at any time, and it may sometimes be unavailable.
  • Misuse. EDUS may pause or end a person’s access to EDUS AI if these terms are broken.
  • Children. Students under 18 use EDUS AI under the supervision of a parent or guardian, like the rest of EDUS.

11. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The competent courts of Sri Lanka shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with these terms.
